Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The part must be returned within 30 days of delivery
  • The part must be uninstalled and in its original condition
  • The part must not have been modified, damaged, or disassembled
  • You must have original proof of purchase
  • You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before returning

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Parts that have been installed
  • Parts that have been modified or altered in any way
  • Parts damaged due to improper handling or storage
  • Electrical components that have been connected
  • Special order or custom items
  • Parts returned without RMA authorization

Return Process

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Call us at +1 (252) 260-4727 or email info@citygearautoparts.com to request an RMA number.
  2. Provide Information: Have your order number, part details, and reason for return ready.
  3. Receive RMA: Once approved, you will receive an RMA number and return instructions.
  4. Package the Part: Securely package the part in its original packaging if available.
  5. Ship the Part: Ship the part to the address provided with the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the package.

Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the status of your refund.

  • Approved Refunds: If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
  • Partial Refunds: In some cases, a restocking fee of up to 20% may be applied.
  • Shipping Costs: Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

Defective or Wrong Parts

If you receive a defective part or a part that doesn't match your order:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Do not install the part
  • Provide photos of the part and packaging
  • We will arrange for return shipping at no cost to you
  • You will receive a full refund or replacement part

Warranty Claims

Warranty claims are handled separately from standard returns. If you believe your part is defective under warranty:

  • Contact us to initiate a warranty claim
  • Provide proof of professional installation
  • Describe the issue in detail
  • Provide any diagnostic reports from a certified mechanic

Warranty coverage does not include labor costs for removal or installation. Please refer to our Terms of Service for complete warranty details.

Exchanges

If you need a different part, we recommend returning the original part for a refund and placing a new order. This ensures faster processing and accurate pricing for the replacement part.

Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before shipment at no charge. Once an order has shipped:

  • You may refuse delivery, but return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund
  • Standard return policy applies if you accept delivery

Damaged in Shipping

If your part arrives damaged:

  • Document the damage with photos before signing for delivery if possible
  • Note any damage on the carrier's delivery receipt
  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Keep all original packaging for inspection
